Adolescent Research Collaborators – A.R.C.
Arc -can be defined as a continuous progression, a line of development, or a sustained Illumination.
The W.E.C. Institute’s founders believe strongly in reaching out to today’s youth. It is a cornerstone of the institute. The W.E.C. Institute has had many discussions with high school faculties, staff, administration, and educators. These discussions have yielded the framework of a program that involves the maximum number of students from many disciplines. For example, the Art Department at a high school has, when appropriate, students draw, sculpt, paint, etc. their concepts. From there youth in the Trade and Industry Department build up three-dimensional models of selected concepts from the Art Department’s designs. Meanwhile students in the Science and Applied Technology Departments begin developing internal mechanical systems. The program is set up to allow educators to add this to their curriculum as they see fit. Incorporating it into their classrooms when it suits their educational goals.
